Brenda “Gail” Gwaltney Brenda “Gail” Gwaltney, 67, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018. Born June 27, 1951 in Alma, GA, she was a daughter of the late Lawton and Lucille Taylor. A faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in West Columbia, Gail taught Christian school for over 30 years.

She is survived by her sons, Phillip (Ann), Stephen, Joseph (Andrea), Benjamin (Brook) Gwaltney; daughters, Melinda Hammontree and Stella Ginn (Adam); 14 grandchildren; sisters, Linda Nichols, and Nelda Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Simmerman. A graveside service for Gail Gwaltney will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, September 21, 2018, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Alma, GA.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Grace Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 416 Denham Ave. , West Columbia, SC, 29169.

Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Lexington Chapel, is assisting the family.
