OBITUARY Franziska Gudrum Workman May 23, 1943 – August 24, 2018 Sissy Workman passed away in her home on August 24th, 2018 in the early morning. She had a brief battle with a rare form of cancer that was found in her esophagus two weeks prior. A year before, Sissy had a liver transplant and, as one of the oldest living transplant candidates, the operation was successful.

However, the medication that allowed her body to sustain the new liver limited her options to fight the cancer. Sissy was born on May 23, 1943 in Germany. She had a brief marriage to Dieter Herrmann, and they had one daughter, Manuela “Trouble” Manues.

She later married Bill Wayne Workman and moved to the United States. They had three daughters: Iris W. Ray, Renee W. Goff, and Rhonda K. Workman. Trouble has two daughters, Misty Dawn Parrish and Holly Marie Parrish.

Iris has two daughters, Stephanie L. Jennings, and Heather L. Foster. Renee has a son, Gerald C Hammond and a daughter, Erika L. Goff. Rhonda had two sons, Samuel C. Hinshaw, and Dakota W. Workman.

Sissy’s family has produced 14 great-grandchildren. Sissy was an extremely resilient woman. She was a fighter and did not give up all the way to the end.

She had a big heart and never hesitated to help her family. She wouldn’t want anyone to mourn her; she never needed sympathy. There will be a “Celebration of Life” in place of a memorial service for all of the friends and family.

Location will be Cayce Women’s Club, 701 Oakland Avenue, Cayce, SC 29033. Date and time will be Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 5:00 pm.
