YOUNGSTOWN – Frank P. Homsey, 90, of the city’s west side, was lifted up to Heaven to rest in the arms of Our Lord, Thursday afternoon, July 12, 2018, leaving this earthly life and joining his beloved son and wife. Frank was born Aug. 28, 1927 in Youngstown, a son of the late Michael and Mary Cramer Homsey.

He was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Chaney High School. Frank proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years shortly after the end of World War II. He subsequently became a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, and he delivered mail on the west side of Youngstown for many years.

Mr. Homsey was a member of St. Brendan Church. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He leaves three daughters, Lynn (Joseph) Yannarella of Florida, Lisa (Ernie) Shipley of Boardman, and Leah Brown of Boardman, and nine grandchildren.

Frank’s wife of 54 years, Beverly Ruth Kantor Homsey, whom he married Oct. 24, 1953, passed away April 18, 2008. Besides his wife, a son, Frank Homsey Jr.; two brothers, Michael and Joseph Homsey; and three sisters, Mary Sklepko, Anna Komisin and Helen Van Such, are deceased.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at St. Brendan Church, 2800 Oakwood Ave. , Youngstown, which will be scheduled soon. Check back to this website for updates.

Committal services will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown.
