Obituary for Frank M. Salamone Frank M. Salamone, age 88 passed away peacefully Friday, 28 September 2018 at his home in Belle Chasse. Frank was born in Independence, LA, 28 November, 1929. On 05 November, 1960 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Alford.
Frank served in the Army in Germany during the Korean conflict obtaining the rank of Sargent upon his honorable discharge. Frank worked as a Sanitarian for the people of Louisiana for 28 years upon his retirement in 1988. He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
Frank and his wife Carolyn had a passion for LSU baseball and attended many games with family and friends. He was better known as the “Mayor of Alex Box Stadium”. Frank also enjoyed catching fish and eating fish with his family.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Carolyn; his son, Eric Salamone; his daughters, Aileen Salamone and Leslie Defley married to Michael Defley; his grandchildren, Eliza Defley and Sarah Defley, brothers and sister, Vince (Doris) Salamone and Rosalie Salamone; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents Mariano and Mary Salamone, he was preceded in death by twelve siblings. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Knights of Columbus, Council 06357 of Belle Chasse, Post Office Box 464, Belle Chasse, Louisiana 70037 in memory of Frank.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOME, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, LA on Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 6PM until 9PM. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 8AM until 11A M. A Funeral Mass will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11AM. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
