Fred E Guild , December 09, 1948 — June 10, 2018

Fred E. Guild, born December 9, 1948 to Ralph T. Guild, Jr. and Thelma Lane Guild, died Sunday, June 10, 2018 in his home at Seminole, OK. He is survived by his wife, Linda Guild, of the home, son, Gene Guild of Oklahoma City, granddaughter, Edie Guild of Oklahoma City, and grandson, Cooper Guild of Indianola, OK, brothers, Dr. Ralph T. Guild, III, David Guild and sisters, Elizabeth Johnson, Pauline Guild-Bingham, Nancy Croley and Theresa Matthews. Fred attended school in Wewoka and graduated in 1967 before attending Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee where he was trained as a diesel mechanic.

Fred was a lifetime member of the Boy Scouts of America and served as Cubmaster, Webelo Leader and Explorer Advisor. As a teenager, he helped to build Camp Sasakwa and Slippery Falls Scout Ranch, where he later worked during summer camp. He enjoyed taking the Explorer Post on wilderness adventure trips and spent many weeks with them camping and on canoe trips on the Buffalo River as well as extended camping trips to Charles L. Sommers camp in Canada.

Fred worked for Halliburton Company for 33 years. The last eight years he spent overseas working in Russia, West Africa and Indonesia. He could fix anything.

One of his sayings was “I can fix anything but a broken heart and the crack of dawn”. After retiring, he began to learn gunsmithing. Fred and his good friends, Ken and Karen Green spent time building and repairing guns.

He also volunteered at Seminole Oil Museum with Chuck Chaddick and became known for his Dutch oven cobblers served at events.
