OBITUARY Fred Y. Mendiola August 10, 1937 – December 12, 2018 Dad, Fred Y. Mendiola age 81, passed away, Wednesday December 12, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer, he was surrounded by his loving family. Fred was born in New Gulf, TX on August 10, 1937; the son of Rosa and Juan Mendiola. While attending the University of Houston, he was drafted into the U.S. Army.

After 4 years of service, he was honorably discharged and started his career with the U.S. Postal Service. It is here at the U.S. Postal Service that he met and married Adela Rivera Mendiola, his loving wife of 55 years. He retired from the post office after 42 years.

He is survived by his wife Adela, his children, Anna Lisa and Felix Zaragosa, Marisa Mendiola, Angie and Sonny Mendiola and Alicia Mendiola. His 3 grandchildren, Ashley Conti, Bianca Postel and Alyssa Zaragosa. And his two pets Estrella and Charlie.

He also leaves behind brothers: Johnny and Balde. His sisters: Pauline Guerra, Minerva Carbajal and Lydia Garcia, as well as numerous beloved in-laws, niece’s and nephews. Fred enjoyed fishing, sports and buying classic cars.

Fred was a lifelong Texan and proud of it. A funeral service will be held at Crespo Funeral Home 2516 Navigation Blvd. Houston, TX.
