Frederick’s Obituary Frederick Earl Deitsch, Jr. passed away at the age of 62, on May 24, 2019, at home with his wife and family by his side. He was born in Midland Michigan on April 22, 1957 to Frederick Earl Deitsch, Sr. and Thelma Marie (Johnson) Deitsch. Fred attended Bay City Western High School, class of 1975.
He then married his high school sweetheart Lynn (Drouin) Deitsch on June 21, 1975. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 43 years, Lynn. He leaves behind his children; Jesse Deitsch (Eryn) from Midland, Cameron Deitsch from Auburn, Kristen Strickland (Wade) from Bullock Creek, Jacob Deitsch (Maranda) from Redmond WA, and Amanda Smith (Earl, “Jim”) from Auburn.
He was cherished by his grandchildren; Ryan Glumm, Logan Herzberg, Anthony Mangino, Haley Deitsch, Victoria Herzberg, Derrian Mangino, Gavin Herzberg, Connor Herzberg, Locke Deitsch, Killian Deitsch, Hayden Smith, Juliana Smith and Cyan Deitsch. He is also survived by his mother in law, Eleanor (Wilczynski) Drouin from Auburn, brothers; Dennis (Laura) Von Eitzen from Prudenville, Dallas Von Eitzen from Midland, Herbert (Judy) Deitsch from Texas, brother in laws; Lawrence (Cindy) Drouin from Auburn, Daniel Drouin from Midland and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; Frederick and Thelma, father in law Delore Drouin, brother in law Kenneth Drouin and his sister in law Carleen Von Eitzen.
He worked at American Hoist & Derrick Company then moved to Pickford Michigan to own and operate a dairy farm for 11 years. Upon returning to his hometown, he worked for Bay City Public Schools then Pat’s Gradall for the next 16 years. After which, he retired to spend more time with his family.
After a long battle of multiple health ailments, he is no longer suffering and is at peace. Fred was a hard working family man who loved his partner in life, his children and grandchildren. For most of his life, Fred beat all odds to prevail and exceed everybody’s expectations to live a full and accomplished life.
He loved classic Ford cars, playing poker, and avid gun enthusiast and teaching his grandchildren to forge and telling risky jokes for a good laugh. Funeral and committal services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday May 29, 2019 at the Auburn Chapel of the Cunningham-Taylor Funeral Homes, Inc. Rev. Robert G. Schmidt will officiate with cremation to follow.
Fred’s family will receive friends at the Auburn Chapel on Tuesday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy, envelopes for the “Wishes of the Family” will be available.
