Frederick “Freddie” G. Batson Sr., 85 of Cambridge, MD, passed on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester in Cambridge, MD. Surrounded by his family. He was born November 6, 1933 to George and Lula Matthews Batson of Rhodesdale, MD.

Freddie attended public schools in Dorchester County before starting his career as a over the road trucker with National Freight in Seaford, DE and Wheatley Trucking in Cambridge, MD. He had a love for hats, fishing and hunting. He also loved Seafood especially crabs.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and sitting home watching his favorite tv shows and westerns. Frederick is survived by his wife, Brenda Batson; twelve children, Nathaniel Cephas (Betty), Seaford, DE, George Ebner (Maria), Delmar, DE, Vincent Cephas (Freeda), Delmar, DE, Brenda Cephas (Seaford, DE), Byron Pinder (Shirley), Baltimore, MD, Angelo Fuller (Cambridge, MD), Hilda Dashiell (Herbert), Seaford, DE, Linda Ennels (New Jersey), Andrea Chester (Glen Burnie, MD), Fred Batson Jr. (Cambridge, MD), Michael Batson (Cambridge, MD), Troy Batson (Deeidra), Seaford, DE; four sisters, Essie Cephas (William), Hurlock, MD, Carman Banks (Dover, DE), Dora Kay Elliott Nutter (Frederica, DE), Sylvia Boodie (Baltimore, MD); one aunt, Areatha Batson (Finchville, MD); one uncle, Orville Smullen (Seattle, Washington)and a host grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, including a best friend, Milton Jones and other friends.
