Frederick Wayne ‘Fred’ Lovejoy February 20, 1976 – March 02, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Frederick Wayne ‘Fred’ Lovejoy passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon, March 2, 2019, at the age of 43 years. Fred was the son of Henry Frederick Lovejoy Sr. & Christine (Harjo) Lovejoy, born on February 20, 1976, in Lawton, Oklahoma. He was brought up and attended schools in Walthill, Nebraska, and graduated Walthill High School in 1994.

He attended the University of Nebraska for one year. He moved to the Oklahoma City area in 1995 and to Holdenville in 1998, where he worked as a carpenter/handyman, and was employed for quite some time by Rick Worsham. He married Joyce Anthony in Holdenville on May 3, 2015.

As a young man, Fred was a member of the United Methodist Church in Walthill, Nebraska, where he was saved and baptized. For the past several months, he attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Holdenville. Fred’s favorite thing from childhood was football.

He loved the game, and despite playing on his high school team in Nebraska and spending a year attending the University of Nebraska, he was a loyal and devoted OU fan. He enjoyed wood carving and making jewelry, going to the lake, and being just a little ornery. His greatest joy was spending time with his boys and his wife.

He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Frederick Lovejoy Sr, and his sister, Lula Lovejoy. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home; five children: Emma Lovejoy of Sisseton SD, Toby Lovejoy of Holdenville, Christian Lovejoy of Seminole, Timothy Mitchell of Holdenville, Amanda Rutland (Tony) and Alicia Ballard (Bryce), all of Okmulgee; four grandchildren: Khaleesi Aurora Lovejoy, Xander Rutland, Jaxson Rutland, and Grayson Ballard; his mother, Christine Lovejoy of HV; two brothers, Junior-Mack Lovejoy (Alejandro Medrano) of Sioux City IA, and Amos Lovejoy (Nancy) of Wewoka; three sisters: Lynn Lovejoy of HV, Elizabeth Lovejoy and Miranda Lovejoy, both of Sioux City IA; nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at the Pentecostal Holiness Church, and Fred will be laid to rest at Holdenville Cemetery.

Rev. Rick Madron and Rev. Frank Moppin are the officiating ministers.

Pallbearers are Timothy Mitchell, Toby Lovejoy, Christian Lovejoy, Tyler Guthrie, Kennan Loggins, and Dwight Duncan. Honorary pallbearers are Amos Lovejoy, Junior-Mack Lovejoy, Cameron Gordon, Jason Bird, and Tim Postoak. There will be a wake service on Monday, March 4, 6:30 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Home’s Lillye Chapel.
