Fritz Draper Hurd Jr., passed away May 25, 2018. Fritz was born March 5, 1931 in Tolley, North Dakota to parents Genevieve and Dr. Fritz D. Hurd Sr. His family moved to Great Falls when he was young. Fritz graduated from Great Falls High School class of 1948.

In high school he achieved acclaim in scouting where he reached Eagle Scout, in tennis where he received numerous awards and trophies, and in forensics. He continued interest in tennis in college and the Army serving in the Signal Corps also playing on the U.S. Army Tennis Team. After the army he returned home and served in the National Guard.

He later worked many years as manager of corrosive control for a pipeline company in several eastern states. He returned to Great Falls to care for family and worked for Western Drug and later a liquor store. Fritz is survived by a sister Nancy McCullough, Seattle, WA, brother Dr. Richard Hurd, San Diego, CA.

Many nieces and nephews, a good friend Roger Barsotti, and may acquaintances at the Rainbow Assisted Living. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mary Ann Davidson, Cathy Elliston and Lois Reeves; infant brother, George and former wife Muriel Larson Hurd. There will be a private burial at the Highland Cemetery.
