Gabriel’s Obituary Gabriel “Gabe” A. Malcolm, 78, of Algonac entered eternal life on Thursday, January 03, 2019. He was born on January 4, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Gabriel T. and Marie F. Malcolm. Gabe married Marjorie Fournier on March 12, 2002.

After high school, Gabe joined the U.S. Army and honorably served his country for 21 years and obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class. After retiring from the Army, Gabe remained in the food service industry until his retirement from Decker’s Landing. Gabe and Marjorie enjoyed traveling together, especially to Jamaica.

He also liked to garden and was an excellent cook. He always had a smile and a joke for anyone who needed one. Gabe is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie; children, Robert Kollmorgen, Lishamarie (Ross) Hunter, Kerry (Mike) Hastings, Joseph (Kathy) Kollmorgen, Deborah (Harold) Sides, Barbara (Jim) Malcolm-Gruszczynski; sister, Gabrielee Mitchell; in-laws, Jan Gibson, Patricia (Ron) Schroeder, Mark (Bonnie) Fournier; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and his dog, Billy.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joann Malcolm and son, Rodney Malcolm. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm in the Bower-Rose Funeral Home, Marine City. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00am until the time of Mass in Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherine’s Church, Algonac.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Algonac. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and Allied Veterans Honor Guard. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Our Lady on the River Parish St. Catherine’s Church.
