Gary E. Pickle, age 74, died on November 1, 2018 at the Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Litchfield United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, November 9th at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation Service in Litchfield.

Interment will be in the Oakside Cemetery north of Atwater. Military Honors will be provided by the Litchfield Military Honor Guard. Gary Edward Pickle, the son of Stanley G. and Orpha C. (Homan) Pickle, was born on July 6, 1944 in Willmar.

He grew up in rural Atwater and attended country school through the sixth grade. He was baptized and confirmed at Harrison Presbyterian Church east of Spicer. He graduated from Atwater High School in 1962.

Gary farmed for a few years before enlisting in the US Air Force. After returning from service he attended Brown Institute. Gary was trained in Maynard, MA and worked as a Computer Technician for Digital Equipment for more than 30 years while living in Wisconsin, Eden Prairie, Kandiyohi and Spicer.

On July 24, 1982, he was united in marriage to Dianne Lundquist in Willmar. After he retired he worked as a substitute rural mail carrier in New London for five years and also at Home Depot in Willmar for 10 years. They raised their family in Spicer and lived near Litchfield and in Alexandria.

He was a member of the Methodist Church and enjoyed wood working, watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings games and going to the boys’ baseball games when they were in high school. He is survived by his wife Dianne Pickle of Alexandria, sons Tim Pickle (fiancée Tracy) of Sauk Center and Jeremy (Rebecca) of Shady Cove, Oregon. He is also survived by his granddaughter Addison; brother Elden (Dorothy) Pickle of Awater; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Corenne Brandt.
