Gary Wayne Johnson, 67, of Watauga, passed into the glory of Jesus at home peacefully on February 13, 2019. Gary was born to Jack and Ann Johnson on January 2, 1952, in Wichita Falls, TX. At an early age he moved with family to Irving, TX where he completed his education.

He joined the Army in 1967. Following an Honorable Discharge from the military Gary attended barber college and has cut hair for 49 years. He was married in 1974 and to this union Andrea Dawn was born.

She eventually became a barber also and worked by his side for 18 years. Gary married Karen Hunnicutt in Upscale Barbershop, Watauga, in 2012. He is survived by wife Karen, of their home; Mother, Ann Johnson, Irving; Daughter, Dawn Odom & Husband Mark, Watuaga; Grandchildren, Cody, Trevor, Natalie, Emily, Jessica, Kenzi; six Great-Grandchildren; and sister, Pam Johnson, Irving.

He is also survived by his bonus children; Dawn, Diane, Jim, Mark and Cheryl; nine Grandchildren and one Great-Grandchild. Gary was passionate about the building fund set up at his church. In leiu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the building fund at First Baptist Church of Watauga in his honor.
