Gary’s Obituary Gary William Harper departed this life on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at the age of 67. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs. A Celebration of Gary’s Life will be 3 p.m., Sunday, February 10, at the Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.

Fred Waldrep officiating. The son of William Rodolphus Harper and Faye Maxine Hughes Harper. Gary grew up in Ohio before his mother’s death.

After her passing, he and his father made their way to Arkansas, where his father remarried and Gary’s younger brother, Ricky, was born. Just out of high school, Gary married his first wife Linda Siders. He came to Oklahoma to attend Bethany Nazarene College, and worked at Casa Bonita Restaurant.

He would later become a head manager at Taco Bueno in Tulsa. There, he met his future wife, Barbara. They were married for 17 years and had two sons, Jason and John.

Gary later went to work at Turner Sheet Metal as a machinist. He then moved to Harley Valve (formerly Tulsa Gauge and Instrument Company), where he was employed for over 20 years. During that time, he became a safety valve technician repairing and installing safety valves at power plants around the country.

After retirement, Gary made his home at Keystone lake. Gary enjoyed listening to music, riding his bike, collecting guns, cooking, and photography. He was most at peace on his many long road trips, and enjoyed visiting with his family and friends.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sons: Jason Harper and wife, Ruth, and John Harper all of Sand Springs; the mother of his children, Barbara Harper of Sand Springs; brother, Ricky Harper and wife, Michelle, of Little Rock, AR; second mother, Movalene Harper of Cabot, AR; and grandchildren: Jacob and Caleb Harper.
