Georgie’s Obituary Georgie G. (Myers) Harris departed this life on Friday, February 1, 2019, at the age of 101. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs. Georgia G Harris (Georgie) was born February 23, 1917 in Sedan, Kansas to O.G and Mae (Roam) Myers.

The Myers moved to Hominy, Oklahoma when Georgia was two years old and then to the Tulsa area before she started school. Georgie attended Sand Springs Schools and graduated from Sand Springs High School in 1933 She attended Oklahoma Baptist University for two years. Georgie was preceded in death by her parents, O.G. and Mae Myers, husband Jay Harris, son Jerry Slankard, granddaughters Tracy Slankard Harvey and Denise Rogers.

She is survived by two Step-daughters Sharon Rogers and Carroll Harris, granddaughters Debbie, and husband Joe Thompson, Cindy Berg and Tammy Slankard. Great-Grandchilden, Jacob Thompson (Holly), Jerad Thompson (Sierra), Brandy Wofford (Daniel), Dusty Manning (Josh), Windy Harvey, Lacy McVay, Ashton WIllis (Randall), Haley Collins and Rusty Rogers (Candy), 20 Great-Great Grandchildren and 5 Great-Great-Great-Grandchildren. Georgie worked for Carnation Milk Company and Tulsa Housing Authority as an accountant before retiring.

After retirement she worked in housekeeping at Eastwood Baptist Church and as a preschool teacher at First Baptist Church Tulsa Preschool Learning Center. Georgie and Jay loved to travel and took many trips to the Holy Land. They also enjoyed the Bedlam football game each year and would attend with church friends.

Georgie loved Sandite Football and attended games on Friday nights until two years ago. She also loved NBA Basketball and always knew what was going on with the players. Georgie recently became a Cleveland Browns fan because she loved watching Baker Mayfield play.

Georgie was a member of Lake United Methodist Church and taught an adult Sunday School Class, played the piano and served on the church board until two years ago. The Family would like to thank The Gardens Nursing Center and Grace Hospice for the wonderful care they have given Georgie over the last year. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Georgie’s memory to Lake United Methodist Church, 7750 W. 14th St. S., Sand Springs, OK 74063, or Grace Hospice, P.O. Box 33234, Tulsa, OK 74153.
