Gavin McKinney, 29, of Winton Salem, formerly of Franklin passed away on October 12, 2018. Gavin was born in Florida on September 5, 1989 to Garry and Kathy McKinney. He worked in construction and also worked as a climber in the tree industry.

He particularly enjoyed some of the projects that he worked on with his father. Gavin graduated from Franklin High School on 2008. He played football throughout school as a wide receiver.

He was also a great baseball player as well. His love for football continued as he was a devout Patriots fan. He especially enjoyed watching football with his Dad.

Gavin was a loving person who loved his friends and family. He will be thought of often and missed very much. He loved Kyai and Garrett very much and they were his pride and joy.

In addition to being survived by his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Kyai, of franklin; a son Garrett of Michigan; a sister Nichole McKinney of Massachusetts; a brother Eric McKinney (Liz) of Florida; a grandmother, Winnie Johnson of Franklin as well as numerous nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. A celebration of life will be held Friday, November 2, 2018 at 6:00 PM in The Chapel of Bryant Grant Funeral Home. Online condolences can be left at www.
