OBITUARY Gaylan Henry November 9, 1936 – October 23, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Travis Gaylan Henry, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Tuesday afternoon October 23, 2018. He was born on November 9, 1936 to John and Effie Henry in Groesback, TX. Gaylan and Linda Married June 3, 1957.

Gaylan graduated from Groesback High School in 1955. He surrendered to preach in August of 1955. He want to Jacksonville College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree.

He finished his college work at TCU with a Bachelor’s Degree. He finished his schooling at the Jacksonville Seminary with a Master of Divinity. Gaylan pastored First Baptist Freestone, TX for 18 months.

He became pastor of South Park Baptist Church August 14, 1957. He pastored this wonderful church for fifty-five years, retiring August 12, 2012. Preceded in death by his parents John and Effie Henry; Brothers Johnnie Henry and JR Henry and Sisters Dorothy Farmer and Pauline Walker.

Survived by Wife Linda Henry, Sons David Henry (Mary Hay) and Dennis Henry (Teresa Freeman); Daughter Karen Cooper (Jon); Brother James Melvin Henry (Mary Ann); Sister in law Peggy Horn; Grandkids Darren Henry, Daniel Henry (Brittany), Braden Henry (Krissi), Corben Henry (Erica), Ethan Henry (Carrisa), Lacy Studdard (Ryan) and Brittany Bartlett (Austin) and Great-grandchildren Berkley Henry, Logan Henry, Allie Henry, Avery Henry, Paisley Henry, Benjamin Studdard and Georgie Studdard. Pallbearers: James Smith, Ronnie Turner, Mike Turner, Eldon Thames, Jimmy Preuninger, Ricky Preuninger, Timothy Fish and Bob Rainey. Honorary Pallbearers: Darius Farmer, Chris Henry and Richard Horn.
