OBITUARY Gene “Woodie” L. Wood July 10, 1928 – January 31, 2019 Gene L. “Woodie” Wood, 90, of Decatur, passed away January 31, 2019. He was born July 10, 1928 to Everett and Clydie Sue Wood. Mr. Wood retired from Western Electric / AT&T after 36 years of service.

He was a member of Westmeade Baptist Church. Mr. Wood was a family man who loved fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, M.B. Wood and Thomas Wood; sister, Marcille Ingram.

Mr. Wood is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pauline H. Wood; daughter, Susan L. Wood; sister, Zona Sue Evans and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Services will be Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 2:30 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home with Dr. Scotty Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Westmeade Baptist Church or any organization of your choice.
