Funeral service for Thalcolm Eugene “Gene” Bolton, age 70, of Birmingham, formerly of Decatur, will be Wednesday, January 23, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Fite officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in New Friendship Cemetery.

Mr. Bolton, who died Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Athens-Limestone Hospital, was born January 29, 1948, in Morgan County, to James Thalcolm Bolton and Vera Mae Blankenship Bolton. He was a finance manager in automotive sales. He is survived by one son, Brett Bolton of Omaha NE; one daughter, Elizabeth Paige Graves (Bryan) of Atlanta, GA; one brother, John Bolton of Decatur; one sister, Thalia Turner (Derek) of Somerville; three nieces, Taleah Alexander of Decatur, Michelle Johnson of Somerville, and Ashley Bolton of Decatur; two great-nieces; and two great-great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
