Graveside service for Elizabeth Marie (Miller) Slaten, age 88, of Union Grove, will be Thursday, January 24, 2019, 10:00 a.m. at Burningtree Memorial Gardens with Rev. Myron Mooney officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Mrs. Slaten, who died Monday, January 21, 2019, at Huntsville Hospital, was born December 17, 1930, in Montgomery, to Jesse James Miller and Esther Butler Miller.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two sons, Steven Slaten of Trinity, and Perry Neal Slaten of Union Grove; one daughter, Lynne Slaten Hughes of Decatur, and Susan Elizabeth Slaten of Union Grove; two sisters, Jean Miller Poe of Boaz, and Sarah Miller Singleton of Bowling Green, KY; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to your favorite charity.
