Geneva Cook was born September 28, 1932 to the late Milton and Jimmie (Lowson) Harrison in Princeton, Arkansas. Geneva was baptized and united with Mt. Zion AME at a very early age where she became very active in both church and community.

She is proceeded in death by her father and mother Milton and Jimmie Harrison of Princeton, AK. , husband Homer Cook Jr; one daughter Patricia Cook; one son Harold Glen Cook; one grandson DanDuryea Askew; one son-in-law Smith Carson all of Kansas City, Missouri; four brothers LB and MC Harrison of Princeton, AR. , Glen Harrison of Denver, Co. and Gladin Harrison of Kansas City, Missouri.

She attended her first nine years of school at Mt. Zion a big one room school house. She finished the next three years at Carthage High School in Carthage High School in Carthage Arkansas.

During all her years of school she loved to sing and act. Geneva was united in holy matrimony in 1952 to the late Homer Cook Jr. of Bonham, TX. To this union eight children were born, four girls and four boys.

She devoted her life at being a Christian wife and mother. She was a loving mother to her children and others that knew her. Her hobbies were fishing and hunting with her husband.

In 1954 she moved to Kansas City and united with Spruce St. Matthew Baptist Church pastored by the late Rev. W.D. Brown. Shortly after, she attended and graduated from Arline Jefferson Beauty College in 1962.

She eventually retired from Boatman’s First National Bank after fifteen years as a mail clerk. She was best known as the little mail lady with the big smile who greeted everyone with a “hello darling” or “hello sweetheart”. She leaves to cherish her memories three daughters Jimmie (Leonard) Jennings, Saundra (Larry) Gray, Jackie (the late Smith) CARSON ALL OF Kansas City, Missouri.

Three sons Bobby (Delores) Harrison of Beloit, WI, DanDuryea (Deborah) Cook of Parkville, Missouri, Artie (Fannie Mae) Cook of Kansas City, Missouri; one foster brother daughter Anita (Kelvin) Price of Brooklyn, New York. She also leaves nineteen grandchildren, three foster grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, one brother Thurman (Earline) Harrison of Denver, Colorado and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be 6:00 P.M. on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Lawrence A. Jones Linwood Chapel.

Visitation 5:00 P.M. Interment at 11:30 P.M. on Saturday, November 24th in Forest Hill Cemetery.
