Obituary for Genevieve Grace Popplewell Genevieve Grace “Burger” Popplewell, age 73 of Independence,Missouri passed away Friday , September 14, 2018 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. Genevieve was born on September 7 ,1944 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Ora William and Lizzie Leola “Friend” Whitfill. On October 23, 2010 she married her husband, David Popplewell.

She was a nurse all of her adult life, owning her own nursing home in LaTour, Missouri. She was a member of the New Salem Baptist church in Independence, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Dennis Gordon.

Surviving her passing, Husband David Popplewell of the home, one son, William Peterson of Holden, Missouri. One sister, Geraldine Carbah, Clinton, Missouri. Seven Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.

Services are scheduled for Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral home in Holden, Missouri. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from Noon until 1:00P.M.on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 Interment will follow the services at the Garden City Cemetery in Garden City, Missouri. Memorial contributions can be made to the blue Hills Baptist church, Independence, Missouri.
