Gennadiy Shuster, 62 years old of Vernon Hills, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, October 30th, 2018. Gennadiy was born in Chelyabinsk, Russia. He graduated from South Urals State University where he delighted his classmates, and future wife Galina, with gregarious spirit and thoughtfulness.

He married Galina on December 1, 1979 and raised two spirited children. In 1992, Gennadiy and his family moved to Chicago where he and Galina worked tirelessly to build a comfortable life for their children in a foreign country that did not speak their native language. Gennadiy was a person of whom truly no one could find a bad word.

He spent his life caring for everyone around him, while also finding the time to experience Double Black Diamond ski runs in Colorado and hiking the trails of countless glaciers from Montana to Patagonia. Gennadiy instilled a sense of diligence and enthusiasm in his children, taught them to love biking and was a dedicated husband and best friend to his wife Galina. Gennadiy is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Galina Shuster, his children Roman Shuster (Kit White) and Darina Shuster (Rémy Dahan), his sister Nona (Simon) Tsatskin, his parents Izya and Galina Shuster, and many more loving friends and family.

Family and friends are invited to the Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 8025 W Golf Rd. , Niles Illinois on Sunday, November 4th, 2018 for visitation at 11:00am followed by a service at 12:00pm to celebrate Gennadiy’s life.
