George A. Rohr, age 92 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Amherst Meadows. He was born August 25, 1926 in Jackson Twp. , the son of the late Augustine and Irene (Sibila) Rohr, the seventh of ten children.

George retired from Halter Feed and Grain, formerly Ceres Supply Company, after 45 years of service where he was a truck driver. He loved gardening, his tractors, helping others and always had a joke to tell. He loved his family, family vacations to Canada, birthdays, and holidays.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Massillon. George is survived by his children, Darlene (Roger) Reese, Deborah (William) Zorn; Gregory (Debbie) Rohr; grandchildren, Matthew Rohr, Aaron Rohr, Larry (Kat) Rohr, Christopher (Brooke) Rohr, Adam (Whitney) Zorn, Ben (Jillian) Zorn, Cynthia Beal, James Beal and Katherine Bizup; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings, Louis (Marie) Rohr, Daniel “Pete” (Alice) Rohr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Culler) Rohr; siblings, Alvin Rohr, Henry Rohr, Maurice Rohr, James Rohr, Rita Schwartz, Arline Braucher and Beatrice Boyd.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Heitger Funeral Home – Jackson Chapel, 5850 Wales Ave. N.W. at 11 A.M. with Rev. Edward Gretchko officiating.

Burial to follow the service at Sunset Hills Burial Park in Canton. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2 to 5 P.M. at the funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
