George’s Obituary George Casper Joseph Reller June 17, 1942 – February 5, 2019 George Casper Joseph Reller passed away peacefully with his family at his side, Tuesday morning at CHI St. Joseph’s Hospital in Park Rapids, MN. George was born in St. Paul, MN, but grew up on a farm in Blackduck, MN raised by his 2 bachelor uncles. He graduated from Blackduck High School with the class of 1960 and in Nov.

of 1960 he entered into the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1963. George moved to Iowa after he was discharged from the service, where he met his future bride Patricia Ann Meyer in 1969. They fell in love and got married on July 23, 1971, in Ocheyedan, IA.

George and Pat eventually had 3 children – Diane, Chad, and Rodney. In the early years of marriage, George held many different positions working on several different farms in Iowa, where he could best utilize his mechanical understanding and craftsmanship with various tools and objects while raising and caring for various livestock. They moved south to Texas in 1980, where they lived for 10 years, where he held a variety of industrial/manufacturing jobs.

George moved his family back to Minnesota (to Rosemount) in 1990, where he continued holding a variety of manufacturing positions, until his retirement in 2002. In 2004, George and Pat moved to Park Rapids, MN to be closer to his sister Dorothea. In his spare time, George loved the outdoors (fishing and hunting) and spending time with his family.

George also enjoyed 50’s classic rock music, especially listening to Elvis, whom he met while in the service overseas. George is survived by his wife and soulmate of 47 years Pat, and daughter Diane (Pat) Albers of Lakeville, MN with grandson Mike (Mindy Huttu) Albers; son Chad (Brenda Michaelson) Reller of Waskish, MN with granddaughter Rylee Michaelson, son Rodney (Jennifer Hubbard) Reller of Rosemount, MN with grandson Adonis Hernandez and granddaughter Bella Hernandez, and his loving cat Socks. George is also survived by his brother Joe (Cheri) Reller of Cedar, MN; his loving sister Dorothea Johnson (Mike) Huber of Lake George, MN; nephew Steven Johnson of Valley City, ND; niece Connie Johnson of Bagley, MN; niece Donna (Dave) Kurtz of Bemidji, MN; great-niece Margaret (Dennis) Staples; and great-great-niece Emma Staples all of Cass Lake, MN.

George was preceded in death by his grandparents, uncle Herm Reller and Uncle Poodle Reller, father and mother-in-law Dick and Tena Meyer, brother-in-law Donald E. Johnson, and granddaughter Alexis Marie Reller. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Jones-Pearson Funeral Home in Park Rapids, MN with Pastor Fred Brown of the New Life Community Church of Park Rapids officiating. Special music will be provided by Pastor Fred and his wife, Bev.

The Star of The North Marine Corps League under the command of Mr. Dave Free will provide full military honors. A time of remembrance with family and friends will start at 9:30 a.m. with a simple service at 11:00 a.m. Following the service will be a light luncheon, with an opportunity for more conversations and reflection.
