George Cotton July 20, 1922 – December 18, 2018 Share this obituary Local Florists Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card George Cotton, age 96, of McAlester, died Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in McAlester. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Cotton officiating.

Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Memorial Park in McAlester. George was born on July 20, 1922 in Neosho, Missouri to Manuel and Hattie Cotton. He married Pauline Moore on July 23, 1945 in Wilburton, Oklahoma.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II on the USS Enterprise. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1098. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Debra Cotton; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margie Johnson, Barbara Roberts and Jessie Starnes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Hattie Cotton; wife, Pauline Cotton; Daughter, Linda LeFlore; brothers, Ted Cotton and Charley Cotton; sisters, Gracie Pace and Hazel Bean.
