George E. McGrath, 81, of Nescopeck, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family following a year long illness. Born in Plainfield Twp. , PA, November 30, 1937, he was the son of the late James and Meda (Kilpatrick) McGrath and spent the past 29 years in Nescopeck, after moving from Nazareth.

George was a Laborer for Mack Printing, Easton and Quebecor, Hazleton. He was a member of Mt. Zion UCC Church, Briggsville.

George was a lifetime member of the NRA and the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed NASCAR and football. He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister Elsie Shrope.

Surviving are his loving wife, the former Nona R. Emery to whom he was married on April 29, 1989; a daughter, Charlene Bartholomew and her husband Dan, Midland, MI; a son, William “Bill” McGrath and his wife Beverly, Danielsville; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Sherwood McGrath and his wife Jeannette, Nazareth, and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. His funeral will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums, is assisting the family with arrangements.
