Funeral services for George Edward Spencer, 84, of Edgewood, TX, are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Friday, December 28, 2018, at True Believers Baptist Church in Wills Point. Burial will follow at Edgefield Cemetery in Edgewood. Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

George Edward Spencer was born on January 1, 1934, in Wills Point, TX, to Mark Spencer and Mary Hicks Spencer. Both parents and ten siblings preceded him in death. George attended Cartwright School in Wills Point.

He was employed at Tyche Industries in Dallas, TX for thirty years and later at Heritage Nursing Home in Canton, TX. He was a faithful member and Deacon at True Believers Baptist Church in Wills Point. George departed this life on December 25, 2018, and leaves to mourn his devoted and loving wife of twenty-three years, Elma Spencer; his children, Michael Spencer, Gerald Stanford, Sherry Brooks, Elysa Wilson and Jerry Milton and wife, Charlotte; grandchildren, Charles Wilson, Chase Wilson and Christy Smith; one brother, Billy Joe Spencer and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral home in Edgewood will be open from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Thursday, December 27, 2018, for friends and family to view and sign the register book.
