George C. Goldfuss, 94, of Middletown, passed away Monday (February 25, 2019) at his home. Born in Mt. Kisco, NY, was a longtime NY resident, moving to New Britain in 2008 and lived in Middletown for the past three years.

A World War II US Navy veteran, he was a police officer with the Mt. Pleasant NY Police Department for 30 years, until his retirement in 1974. George was a member of Pleasantville NY Lodge # 886, F&AM.

Surviving are two sons, Paul Fischer and his wife Barbara of Hamilton, MA; and Glenn Goldfuss and his wife Jackie of Oak Island, NC; two daughters, Gail Spada of Bristol and Laura Ahneman also of Oak Island; and a best friend and caregiver, Holly Erickson of Middletown; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and a nephew. He was predeceased by a grandson, Kyle Ahneman and a sister, Dorothy Ackerly. A Memorial service with military honors will be held Saturday (March 9) 11 AM at First Lutheran Church, 77 Franklin Square, New Britain, with a reception to follow.

Calling hours are 10:30 to 11 AM at the church. The Carlson Funeral Home, New Britain is assisting with arrangements.
