George Allen Highbaugh, 78, of Cecilia, passed away Tuesday February 12, 2019 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. George was born in Bee Spring, Kentucky to Dewey Highbaugh and Alice (Meredith) Highbaugh. He retired from Kentucky Guardrail and was the former owner/operator of Country Crossroads Store in Cecilia.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by three brothers: Maynard Highbaugh, Dempsey Highbaugh, and Walter Highbaugh, and one sister Ailene Highbaugh. George leaves to cherish his memory his wife of years, Virginia Highbaugh of Cecilia; two sons: Bobby Highbaugh and Steve (Michelle) Highbaugh, both of Cecilia; two brothers,: Tooter (Carolyn) Highbaugh of Rineyville, James Highbaugh of Radcliff; and one sister, Carolyn Harper of Rineyville. George had three grandchildren Brittney Cripps (Cody), Bryce Highbaugh, and Tyler Highbaugh, and two great grandchildren Jayden and Rollie Cripps whom he loved very much.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Manakee Funeral Home of Elizabethtown with Reverend John R. Clark officiating. Burial will follow at the Franklin Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation will begin, Saturday at 10:00 am at the funeral home and continues until the time of service.
