Cappiello 83, of Garfield formerly of Montebello, NY and Little Ferry passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Born in North Bergen to the late Louis and Mary Cappiello. George was an Army veteran.

Before retiring, he was the owner of various service stations in Hudson and Bergen Counties for thirty years. George was a former parishioner of St. Margaret of Cortona R.C. Church in Little Ferry where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a former Councilman and served as the Fire Commissioner, a former football and Little League coach and a former member of the Fire Department all in Little Ferry.

George was also a former member of UNICO and the Knights of Columbus. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn (nee DeBarr) Cappiello. Devoted father of Mark Cappiello and his wife Maria Elena Bonadio and Steven Cappiello and his partner Fran.

George is also survived by his daughter-in-law Gina Cappiello. Dear brother of Catherine Vernieri, Helen Konovitch and the late Whitey and Joseph Connotillo, Louis and James Cappiello. Loving grandfather of Emily, Christopher and Ella.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, March 23rd at 9 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Corpus Christi R.C. Church in Hasbrouck Heights at 10 AM.

Interment following at Cresthaven Cemetery in Clifton. Visitation Friday, March 22nd from 5-8 PM.
