Obituary for George Kuperus The funeral service for George Kuperus of Eagle Bend will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14 , at the Faith Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend, with Pastor Allen Mortenson presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. George, age 92, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the Centre Care Nursing Home in Long Prairie, MN.

George was born to William and Cora (Covey) Kuperus at Ireton Reading, Sioux City, Iowa, on February 22, 1926. He was united in marriage to Arlene Plumhoff on March 10, 1948. George and Arlene retired from farming in 1983.

They lived in Eagle Bend until moving to CentraCare Nursing Home in Long Prairie in April 2012. George was a farmer at heart. He furthered his farming career by going to Agriculture School.

After retiring, George and Arlene enjoyed going to craft shows to sell the rag rugs he made and Arlene’s many crafts. George also did garden tilling, working for the Eagle Bend Lumber yard and helping out the local blacksmith. He also enjoyed helping local farmers in their need and anyone who needed help.

He enjoyed his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his great-great grandchildren. Arlene passed away in 2014. George is survived by Iverne (Charles) Brill of Dassel; Theodore (Lorraine) Kuperus of Wadena; Maxine (Dan) Holmquist of Verndale; Glenn (Brenda) Kuperus of Waite Park and Terry (Gloria) Kuperus of Long Prairie; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law.

Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Eagle Bend, MN. Thank you for all of your support. No individual acknowledgement will be sent.
