Obituary for Delbert Taber The funeral service for Delbert Taber, a Central Todd County Care Center resident and formerly of Eagle Bend, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 4 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Eagle Bend, with his son, Rev. Dr. Randy Tabor presiding. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., and will resume on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Three days before celebrating his 94th birthday, Delbert passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018, at the Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples, MN. Delbert was born to Harry M. and Henrietta “Etta” (Steinke) Taber on January 3, 1925, in Burleene Township, near Clotho in Todd County, MN. On September 9, 1950 Delbert was united in marriage to Marlene Sticha at the Clarissa United Methodist Church.

He worked road-construction through-out the years and farmed 40-acres south of Eagle Bend. He also drove milk truck and worked at the Browerville Milk Plant. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Etta; brothers, Merle, Clyde, Percy, Emery; and sisters, Grace Eaton, Irene Eaton, and Margaret Thompson.

Surviving Delbert are his wife of 68 years, Marlene in Clarissa; sons, Randy (Kris) Taber of Brooklyn Park, Terry Taber of Eagle Bend, Tim Taber of Glenwood, along with 6 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren. Honorary casket bearers will be Rick Nelson, Jim Taber, Tony Neidhardt, Bruce Sadlemeyer, Dan Bebolt, Bruce Dahlman, Mike Eckel and Dan Oftedahl. Active casket bearers will be Justin Nelson, Daniel Aschenbrener, Ryan Durand, Christian Taber, Zachary Taber, Ryan Stueven, Trevor Taber, and Seth Neidhardt.
