Funeral services for George “Marvin” Miller, age 82 of Lindale, TX, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale, with Pastor Ben Steen officiating. Interment will follow at Damascus Cemetery in Lindale. Marvin passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019 in Tyler, TX.

He was born January 27, 1937 in Edgewood, TX to the late Lee A. and Nina D. (Long) Miller. He has been a Lindale resident for over 60 years and was a member of the Garden Valley Baptist Church. Lovingly known to most as a horsetrader, “Finger’s Miller” enjoyed an occasional game of poker.

Marvin also enjoyed working his cattle, watching old westerns and was a longtime vendor at Canton Trades Days. He worked throughout his life in residential and commercial construction, building and remodeling. He was the owner and operator of G.M. Miller Construction.

Marvin was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Helen Miller; daughter, Stacy Kristiansen; sister, Mable Smith; and step-son, Cory Powell. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Powell Miller of Lindale; daughters, Peggy Miller Alexander and husband, Donald of Lindale and Lea Van Vleet and husband Dennis of Flower Mound; step children, Rochelle Bradford and husband, Josh of Edmond, OK and Rusty Rhoades of Bethany, OK; sister, Joan Herrin of Wills Point; brother, Jimmy Don Miller of Canton; grandchildren, Cody Dobbs, Brandy Norris, Candice Longcrier, Joshua Dobbs, Jade Hart, and Camden Bradford; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be McCormick Van Vleet, Cody Dobbs, Joshua Dobbs, Randall Norris, Jonathan Longcrier, and Ryan Miller.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Caudle-Rutledge-Daugherty Funeral Home in Lindale. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of George “Marvin” Miller please visit our Sympathy Store.
