George Means Jr., 83, of Warren, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019, at UPMC Hamot. George was born on October 3, 1935, to the late George and Maitlan (Hunter) Means. He was employed at Bell Telephone Co. until he took an early retirement in 1978.

Over the years he started several businesses, which are still open today, including Means Service Inc. George is survived by his loving wife, Carol Ann (Ashenfelter) Means, whom he married on September 27, 1954 in Angola, Indiana; his children, Kenneth (Frances) Means, Cindy (Robert) Garrison, Len (Deb) Means, Robyn (Tim) Means; his sisters, Nadine Coder and Leila Mowry, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Bill Nuhfer. Friends will be received from 5-7 pm on Friday, January 11, 2019, at the Peterson-Blick Funeral Home, Inc. 1003 Penna.

Ave. E. Warren, PA 16365. A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, January 12, 2019, at the First Lutheran Church, 109 W 3rd Ave, Warren, PA 16365, with The Rev.

Jeff Ewing, pastor, officiating. Internment will take place at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
