Obituary for George Mutsuo (Keoki) Iwane Jr. Passed away peacefully at home at the age of 72. He is preceded in death by his Father George M. Iwane Sr., Mother Katherine Clemente and Brothers Daniel and Frederick. George is survived by his wife Sandra and children Jason Iwane, daughter Jody Iwane Timm (Brian), Step children Danny, Chad, Jason, Ernesto and Joycelyn.

Father Damaso “Clem” Clemente, sister Bernadette “Bernie” Iwane, brothers Derek (Ewa) and Glenn (Gladys) Clemente. 23 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. George worked as a body-fender man over 35 years.

During that time, he accomplished the following: While working he also studied for his GED and in 1992 he receives his diploma. He became an instructor at Castle High School body and fender work in which he and his students rebuilt a car for the School Musical Grease, Midweek ran an article regarding George and his students. He also taught body and fender work at King Intermediate for the Windward School for Adults.

In 2007, the Windward School for Adults recognized him as the “TEACHER OF THE YEAR”. He was there to offer a helping hand to anyone that needed help. He loved the simple things in life, he was into many things.

His first love aside from his wife is fishing. He entered many fishing tournaments, he loved the ocean. He enjoyed working in the yard and with plants, he would take plants from his dad’s house and start to grow it himself to see if he had a green thumb and he did.

Sandra and a few friends nick named him Dr. Doolittle he loved animals, while being at home and not able to move around much he made friends with all the stray animals around the apartment building by feeding and talking to them. He coached Little League Baseball from 1991 to 1998. Was in a CB Club, Handle and CB name was 1411 and Fender Bender.

He enjoyed life he would be happy with a Bud and his Cigarettes enjoying with family and friends. Service: 6:30 pm on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Hawaiian Memorial Park. Scattering of ashes: 4:00 to 5:00pm at He’eia Kea Pier.
