George’s Obituary George Stuart Hastings of Luther passed away after a battle with cancer on Thursday, March 7, 2019. He was 92. He was born September 13, 1926 in Luther to John and Irene (Sibary) Hastings.

He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1949 to 1951 and later worked as a fire fighter for the City of Ann Arbor for 25 years until his retirement. He leaves behind his wife of forty years, Georgianna; sons Douglas (Rose) and Paul (Bonnie) Hastings of Ann Arbor, David (Tracy) Hastings of Paducah, KY; step-children Richard (Carla) Mongar, Karen Flynn, Rocky Mongar, John (Candy) Mongar, and Jeff (Vonda) Galloup all of Luther; Ansel (Debra) Bland of Mansfield, LA; Jeff (Cathy) Schabes of Sturgis, MI; Bruce (Sherri) McDowell of Sterling Heights, MI; Gary (Tina) Mongar of Holland, MI; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, step child Robert Mongar; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
