Voorheesville – Georgia Yvonne Mertens, 74, quietly entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital; surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Albany on December 14, 1943 to John Hendericks and Priscilla Hendericks (Bliven) (deceased). She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Peter Mertens and her son Randy Mertens.

She leaves precious memories for her daughter Laurie Ingleston (Mark) of Voorheesville, and two sons, Peter Mertens (Karen… Read More » Cozzy) of Albany and Leonard Mertens of Voorheesville. She is survived by two brother-in-laws, Roland Eberhard (Christa) and Claus Geiger. Georgia also has several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews that will truly miss her.

She worked at Rothbard’s in Voorheesville for several years and worked as a personal care aid. She spent time as a volunteer EMT for East Berne, A special “Thank You” to the nurses and staff at St. Peter’s for all their care, kindness and support. A graveside service will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Western Avenue.
