Obituary for Georgine F. Rausch Georgine F Rausch, 72, of Speculator passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at her home on December 17, 2018. She will be dearly missed by her family and the community. Born April 22, 1946 in Langquiad, Germany, she immigrated to the United States in 1953 and resided in Deer Park, NY, graduating from Deer Park High School.

On May 22nd, 1965 she married Donald Rausch and enjoyed 48 years of marriage until Don’s death in April of 2013. Georgine was a life-long New Yorker. Don and Georgine resided in Floral Park on Long Island.

There they raised their three sons. An avid traveler, Georgine spent 30 years in the airline industry working and traveling the world. She especially enjoyed traveling the less beaten path and visited such places at India, Madagascar, Nepal and even climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Georgine came to love the Adirondacks and especially the Speculator and Lake Pleasant community where they retired after having a small cabin there for 30 years. Donald and Georgine had many wonderful days in their home in Speculator surrounded by their children and grandchildren. Whether skiing in the winter or enjoying the lake in the summer, the home was always alive with love and the laughter of family and dear friends.

She was active in the community at the St James RC Church, Friends of Lake Pleasant Library and the Speculator Garden Club. Georgine is survived by her sons, Derick and his wife Anita of Harrington Park NJ, Kris and his wife Angela of Sunnyvale CA, Jonathan and his wife Linda of Townsend MA; seven grandchildren, Bryce, Kameron, Charles, Madison, Samuel, Deven and Avery. A funeral Mass will be held at St. James Major Roman Catholic church in Lake Pleasant on December 21, 2018 at 4pm.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 2pm until 4pm at the church before the Mass. Georgine will remain in her beloved Adirondacks and will be laid to rest alongside the love of her life, at a burial service at Fish Mountain Road cemetery this summer.
