Gerald T. ‘Jerry’ Hoock, 57, of Merrill, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at his home under the care of his family and hospice services. Jerry was born January 26, 1961 in Merrill, son of the late John and Shirley (Himelhan) Hoock. He married Lori Hofmann on December 11, 1980, in Merrill.

She survives. Jerry had worked at the City of Merrill Water Utility. He enjoyed being at the shack in Newwood, hunting, fishing, being in the woods and making sausage.

He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and if he couldn’t make it to a game he always wanted to know the outcome. Survivors include his wife, Lori Hoock of Merrill; daughter, Lindsey (Josh) Lee of Merrill; sons, Matt (Heather) Hoock and Geoff (Heidi) Hoock both of Merrill; nine grandchildren, Annabelle, Scarlett, Aryelle, Jack, Ally, Avery, Grace, Haley and Claire; one grandchild on the way; two sisters, Barb Truelove of Lebanon, MO and JoAnn (Dan) Atkinson of Foley, AL; five brothers, Mike (Sarah) Hoock of Belton, TX, Dan Hoock of Merrill, Robert (Edie) Hoock of Abbotsford, Patrick (Norma) Hoock of Pasadena, TX and John Hoock of Lebanon, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Shirley Hoock; an infant sister; his in-laws, Lawrence and Delores; and a brother-in-law, Don Truelove. The funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Father Chris Kemp will preside.

Burial will take place at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Merrill. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.
