Gerald “Jerry”‘s Obituary Gerald “Jerry” L. Woodring, age 79 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the Green Acres Assited Living Center in Fremont. Jerry was born on October 19, 1939 in Fremont to Francis Arnold and Mildred May (Wheeler) Woodring. Jerry graduated from Fremont High School in 1958 and later graduated from Ferris State College with an accounting degree.

Jerry has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where he had been an assistance traffic manager at Gerber Products Company in Fremont for 32 years until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Philatelic Society. Jerry has been a Boy Scout since 1948 and was awarded several awards including the Explorer Silver Award; District Merit Award, Silver Beaver, Order of Arrow and had been active in the Wood Badge Training as well as being the leader of the Boy Scout Troop #139 in Fremont.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children, Deborah “Debbie” (Pete) Truskoski of Grand Rapids; Doug Woodring of Fremont; Candi Todd of Fremont; his daughter-in-law, Darlene Woodring of Hesperia; his grandchildren, Nicole (Matt) Michanowicz; Sean DeVisser; Patrick DeVisser; Mike Todd; Cassie Todd; Caitlin (Joel) Walton; Trevor Ponton; Justin Ponton; Coty (Morgan) Todd; his great grandchildren, Natalie, Ella, Jace, Mackenzie, and Alyssa; his brothers, Richard (Theresa) Woodring of Fremont; John (Bonnie) Woodring of Jackson; his sister-in-law, Jan Woodring of Florida. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Woodring; great grandson, Anthony Mikel DeVisser; his brother, Robert Woodring. Private Invitation Only memorial services will be held at a later date at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel.

INTERMENT : Maple Grove Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Bob Lindsey and Vern Denison Campership Fund for Troop #139, c/o Fremont Area Community Foundation in memory of Jerry.
