Obituary for Gerald L. Henderson Gerald L. Henderson, 82, of Punta Gorda, FL passed away peacefully in Port Charlotte, FL on November 28, 2018. Gerald was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late Walter and Hazel (Elkins) Henderson on September 25, 1936. Gerald lived in Florida for the last five years and previously in Indianapolis for seventy-seven years.
Gerald served in the United States Marine Corp. Gerald was a Fork Lift Operator for Carrier Corporation in Indianapolis for thirty-four years before retiring in 1994. He was a member of Mooresville American Legion Post #103; Mooresville Fraternal Order of Eagles; was an avid reader and loved spending time with his family.
Gerald is survived by his lovely wife, Flora (VanBlaricum) Henderson; daughter, Anna (Pat) Allen; four grandchildren: Garrett Sears, Nic Allen, Jeff Allen, and Matt Allen; six great grandchildren; three brothers: Jim, Kenneth and John Henderson. Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, son, Ricky Sears; brother, William Henderson; and sister, Betty Meece. Family and friends may show their love and support from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville.
