Geraldine (Geri) Bailey, 93, of Benton House Senior Living in Sugar Hill, GA, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 6, 2019. She was born in Union, SC on August 25, 1925 to the late Mason Herring Sprouse and Walter Leon Sprouse. Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband, William Clarence Bailey, Sr., her daughter, Carolyn Bailey Evans, a sister, Elizabeth Lawson, and brothers, Bobby Sprouse and Irving Sprouse.

She is survived by her son, William C. Bailey, Jr. and… Read More » his wife, Vicki L. Bailey of Suwanee; her brother, Walter L. Sprouse, Jr. and his wife, Polly, of Marietta, GA; her sister in law, Sara Sprouse of Union, SC and her son in law, Charles B. Evans of Hendersonville, NC. She is also survived by grandchildren, Ashley Bailey (Michael Connor) of Perry, GA, Brian Bailey (Lisa) of Sandy Springs, GA, Holly Moore (Blake) of Greenville, SC and Christy Whitehurst (Michael) of East Flat Rock, NC. Gigi, as she was lovingly called, was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Ben, Bailey and Bryson Whitehurst of East Flat Rock, NC.

She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother by her family. She was a member of the Welcome Class of Briarlake Baptist Church.

For many years after moving to Atlanta, the family was active members of the First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church of Atlanta and Chapel Woods Presbyterian Church of Decatur. A funeral service for Mrs. Bailey will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Brairlake Baptist Church with Mrs. Bailey lying in state from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. Interment will be private.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
