Hartsville, S.C. Geraldine Brown Doherty age 71 of Hartsville South Carolina passed away December 31, 2018. She was born on September 28, 1947 to the late Theron Elbert and Grace Elizabeth Iffland Brown. She was a 1965 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School and a long time resident of Oakham, Massachusetts.

She worked for Commerce Insurance in Webster, MA and after moving to South Carolina in 2005 she worked for Assurant until her retirement in 2012. Family meant everything to her and it showed in her hobbies and desire for family gatherings. She had a love for travel and managed to visit 39 US States, including Hawaii and Alaska.

She is survived by her husband Richard Paul Doherty whom she married on May 27, 1967. She is also survived by her Step-Mother, Lorraine Brown, children, Elizabeth (Alton) Reich, Stephen Doherty and Sharon (Paul) MacDonald; four grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, John Henry Brown.

Geraldine will be buried at Glen Valley Cemetery in Barre, MA by her family. Norton Funeral Home of Hartsville is honored to serve the Doherty family.
