OBITUARY Geraldine “Janie” (Roeder) Simpson April 9, 1939 – January 1, 2019 Geraldine “Janie” (Roeder) Simpson Age 79, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away January 1, 2019. She was the very embodiment of a supreme homemaker. She was devoted to her home and she was keen to keep it spotless and in good working order.

She was an extraordinary seamstress and could make anything with finesse. From her daughter’s clothing to all of the curtains, slipcovers, quilts, and any crocheted item in the home, they were made by her loving and skilled hands. She enjoyed cooking and made the best meals.

She was a constant in her families lives, was always a call away, and a wonderful person to confide in. She will be dearly missed. Janie is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil M. and Helen Roeder; brother Tony Roeder, and sister, Rosie Ritchie.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Edgar “Ray” Simpson; daughters, Judy (Kenny) Smith, Brenda ( Phil) Nelson, and Linda (Gene) Perrymore; grandchildren, Eric (Cathy) Shear, Melissa (James) McKinney, Diana (Loy) Dorsey, Brian Timmons, Steven (Liesl) Timmons, Timothy Ray (Kelsey) Perrymore, Ashley (Eddie) Hinojosa, Jeremy (Sheri) Smith, Jake (Betty) Smith, Rob Nelson, Julie (Julio) Guerrero, Tony (Karen) Nelson, and Jason Nelson; 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Patsy (Ronald) Swartz. Janie’s visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 and funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Sat.

Jan. 5, 2019 both at Resthaven Mortuary Chapel, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
