She was born to Robert and Leona (Stewart) Manley on October 19, 1925 in Gilman, Il. Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ellis; parents and brothers Earl Wayne, Robert, Homer, Joseph, Norman, Carl, Billy and C.E. Manley.

She is survived by her children, Lyle (Pamela) Houpt, Harold (Judy) Houpt, Patricia (Dave) Hacker, Nancy (Dwight) Saunders, Linda (Michael) Wunsch, Larry Ellis; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and her beloved cats, S’more and Cody. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28 from 6-8 at Affinity All Faiths Mortuary, 2850 S. Seneca, Wichita. A funeral service will be on Friday, March 1, 1 pm, at the Glenville Baptist Church, 4604 S Seneca St, Wichita.
