Geraldine Schmitz, age 88, of Blanchester, Ohio, formerly of the Hillsboro area, passed away Thursday night, December 20, 2018 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital. She was born December 13, 1930 in Norwood, Ohio daughter of the late Edgar & Violet (Allen) Price. She married John Celestine Schmitz, who passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 1996.

Geraldine enjoyed being the grill cook at the Dairy Point in Blanchester serving all of the high school kids, was active in the Ham radio CBS Action Team in Blanchester and had attended the Goshen Methodist Church with her son, Wayne. Surviving are her sons- Brian (Sheila) Schmitz of Blanchester, OH, & Wayne (Debbie) Schmitz of Pleasant Plain, OH; 7 grandchildren- Jennifer (Alex), John (Angie), Justin (Jill), Martha (Dustin), Laytham, Kayleb & Aaron (Erica); great-grandchildren- Alisha, Sadie, Billy, Reese, Savannah, Ryland, Holden, & Claire; great-great-grandson- Jacoby; a great-great-grandchild-to be; and step-great-grandchildrren- Tasha, Mercedes, & Zoey. In addtion to her parents and husband, Geraldine was preceded in death by her brother and sister.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 East Main Street, Hillsboro, Ohio with Pastor Dan Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery, Hillsboro, Ohio. Friends will be received from 12 Noon, Thursday until the time of services at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home.
