Geraldine “Jeri” McInturff, age 77, went to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, after a long fought illness, surrounded by her loving family in Charleston, South Carolina. Jeri was preceded in death by her mother, Leona Portell Rose, and her father, Howard Rose. She will be remembered as a bright shining light by her loving husband, Larry McInturff, her sister, Nancy Rose Dentro (Paul Dentro), her four children, Mike McInturff, Kitty Vaughn (Freddie Vaughn), Bridget McInturff-Burt (Keith Burt), Sean McInturff, her four grandchildren and two great-children.
Jeri was a fiercely dedicated educator. For decades she poured her heart into the lives of her students. She was passionate in her desire to teach them the value of hard work, the value of others, and the value of a life well lived.
She was beloved by her students and by her fellow teachers. Jeri was a force of energy in the classroom, giving each child the care and respect they needed, while expecting them to give their very best. She later did the same for her teachers, as principal of OLPH.
