GILBERT JAREED GREEN, age 87 of Clanton, passed away on May 7, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Chilton County on January 6, 1932; the son of the late Len Green and the late Eunice Vinson Green. Gilbert worked as a route salesman for Coca Cola.

He would go on to become a supervisor with 33 years of service to the company. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a faithful member of the Lomax First Baptist Church.

He is survived by: Wife, Mary Evelyn Green of Clanton; Son, Greg (Laura) Green of Birmingham; Daughter, Sharon (Mike) Williams of Clanton; Daughter, Debra Jones of Clanton; Grandson, Lynn (Elizabeth) Jones of Thorsby; Granddaughter, Hayley (Brandon) Wright of Thorsby; Grandson, Brandon (Kristin) Williams of Birmingham; Granddaughter, Beth Green of San Diego, CA; Granddaughter, Alex Green of Birmingham; Great Grandchildren: Jacob Wright, Owen Wright, Emily Jones, Ryne Jones, and Brynn Williams; and Sister, LaMerle Hamm of Jemison. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 2:00pm from Bethsalem Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Arnette, Rev.

Cecil Sewell, Jr. and Rev. Johnny Bowman officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:30pm until the service hour at the church.

Burial will follow in the Bethsalem Baptist Cemetery in Billingsley, AL. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Deborah Bolding and Trish Morris who were Gilbert’s caretakers. The family request in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Lomax First Baptist Church 3806 7th St. N Clanton, AL 35045.
