Gilbert Patrick Martinez, 59, of Denver, Colorado, passed on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Swedish Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born to Gilbert E. Martinez and Ida L. (Trujillo) Martinez on August 15, 1959 in Denver, Colorado. Gilbert “Patrick” graduated from Lake County High in 1977 in Leadville, Colorado; he enlisted in the United States Army on June 9, 1977 and served until November 8, 1983.

He is survived by three daughters: Nikki M. Bazinet of Orlando, Florida, Brittany I. Martinez of Buena Vista, Colorado & Karissa L. Martinez of Aurora, Colorado; parents: Gilbert & Ida Martinez of Leadville, Colorado; two sisters: Joan Gonzales (Leonard) of Fort Collins, Colorado and Noreen Flores (Darryl) of Leadville, Colorado; two brothers; Gerald Martinez of Leadville, Colorado and Rodney Martinez (Shannon) of Monte Vista, Colorado; stepdaughter Shaunde Zeigler of Denver, Colorado, and numerous relatives and friends. In Lieu of flowers, food or other gifts, the family is requesting donations be made to the Disabled Veterans of America. secure.
